About
I am a marine mammal scientist and conservationist passionate about policy- and conservation-focused research, establishing sustainable conservation solutions and supporting local research capacity. I have a Bachelor's degree in Marine Biology (Newcastle University, UK), a Master's degree in Marine Mammal Science (University of St Andrews, UK) and am currently persuing my PhD on threatened Cambodian marine mammals (Newcastle University, UK). My research focus is on understanding abundance, distribution and threats of threatened coastal marine mammals, and working with fishers to find and trial conservation solutions that support marine mammals, marine ecosystems and fishers. In 2023, I co-founded the NGO Khmer Ocean Life, to increase research and conservation efforts and impact. I am using this space to provide detailed information about my expertise, research focus, and commitment to sustainable conservation.
